The Kelvin Institute and the Commercial Sector

Since the aim of the Kelvin Institute is to maximise the commercial potential of innovation research both in-house and from our partners in Scottish Universities and license the best intellectual property into the commercial sector.

We strive to select projects on the strength and commercial potential of their underlying technology. We employ a rigid evaluation process to all submitted projects with an emphasis that the fundamental technology must be innovative, conceptually robust, and capable of being developed into a marketable product.
